Famous brand logos would be quite easy to draw, well one would think. Drawing the Apple logo and Target logo would seem immensely simple for any one, do you think big brands have spent their money well? Signs.com conducted a unique experiment asking 156 Americans between the ages of 20 and 70, to draw 10 famous logos as best they could. This had to be done completely from memory, no Google search!
A fact also pinpointed by Karen Haller, a leading authority on colour psychology, who had this to say while talking about using colour in branding: “People have an emotional connection with colour first. Then we take in the shapes, the logo, and we read the words,” says Haller. “If we sense a mismatch, it’s the colour we don’t believe, despite the beautifully crafted words.”
Maybe before you scroll down, try sketching these logos from memory, Apple, Adidas, Burger King, Starbucks, Ikea, Domino’s Pizza, Foot Locker, Target, 7-Eleven and Walmart. (I got stuck on Starbucks and Foot Locker!)
